Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from inside the app

This is the fastest way and takes effect immediately. In the Global Village app:

• Open Settings.
• Tap Account → Delete Account.
• Confirm when prompted.

Your account is closed right away and you are signed out. Deletion cannot be undone.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed, or you would rather we handle it for you, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Account Deletion Request." Include your username so we can locate the account.

We verify that the request comes from the account owner, then process the deletion. We respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize:

• Your profile — username, profile photo, bio, and any location you shared.
• Your email address, which is unlinked from the account.
• Your push-notification tokens, so the app stops sending you notifications.
• Your posts, comments, listings, and messages are removed from public view and fully deleted from our systems within 30 days.

What we are required to keep

A small amount of data is kept after deletion where the law requires it:

• Payment and earnings records — records of payments you made and earnings you received (and any related tax forms) are retained for up to seven years to comply with tax, accounting, and anti-fraud laws. Card details themselves are held by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us.
• Moderation records — if your account was involved in a violation of our Community Guidelines, we may keep a record of it for up to two years to enforce the guidelines consistently.
