The United States is dismantling China's discounted oil supply chain on two fronts simultaneously. Through Operation Southern Spear, Washington has seized at least nine tankers carrying Venezuelan crude bound for China, while Operation Epic Fury and the subsequent blockade of Iranian ports threaten the other major source of cheap oil feeding Chinese refineries. Taken together, these actions target more than a quarter of China's oil import supply chain.
